Gurgaon
1 night, The Oberoi Gurgaon

DAY 1: On arrival at Indira Gandhi International airport terminal, you will have a VIP Meet and Greet service to welcome you to India. and escort you through immigration, baggage collection and custom.

Your private tour escort will then meet you and continue with a transfer to your hotel . Your hotel room has been pre-registered to enjoy check in on arrival.

Gurgaon: A handful of skyscrapers reach for the sky in the CBD of Gurgaon, a northwestern metropolis in the province of Huryana, near Delhi. Historically known as Guru Gram, the dormant town gathered economic momentum when Indian automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, set up a manufacturing plant here in the 1970s. Just a few decades later, half the Fortune 500 companies had opened offices in Gurgaon. Despite the congested urban areas, birding enthusiasts can find respite at Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary, a famous bird-watching spot only 15 km from the city.

Panna National Park
2 nights, Sarai at Toria

DAY 2: This morning you will be collected and transferred to the airport for your scheduled India flight to Khajuraho. We will arrange VIP services for departure at Delhi airport, for special assistance inside the airport.

On arrival you will be met and enjoy a late lunch. Continue for a guided tour of the exotic temples of Khajuraho, an evocative way to experience history of a bygone era, with a narrative of the Chandela dynasty, the temple construction and the city’s name. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the temples have intricate stone carvings with a finish of wood and metal. While the erotic sculptures have brought it to the attention of the world, there is a far deeper symbolism to the art.

Drive to Panna located in close proximity to Khajuraho. Check into your accommodation and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

DAY 3: Enjoy a full day of activities with your tour leader and guide.

Jeep Safari in Panna – Look out for wildlife on a Jeep Safari inside Panna National Park. Your wild encounters may bring you face to face with predators and prey, reptiles, vultures and a variety of birds in one of the most beautiful forests of Central India.

Ken River Safari – Enjoy a paddle boat ride along the Ken River and explore the wilderness and bird life. (Subject to adequate water levels).

Yoga – In the most peaceful, natural surroundings, learn from a local yoga master, the traditions form an integral part of everyday spirituality and well being.

Village Life – Experience the surrounding rural countryside on a walk or on bicycles. Interact with the locals, witness the rituals at a temple, or simply take a leisurely stroll in a village.

Panna National Park

Also known as the Panna Tiger Reserve, the Panna National Park, in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, is an impressive 550-square-kilometer expanse of wilderness characterised by high plateaus, plunging gorges, vast teak forests, and rolling savannah grasslands. From peaceful boat rides watching crocodiles along the banks of the Ken River, to catching glimpses of tigers, leopards and sloth bears on an exhilarating jeep safari, Panna offers wildlife enthusiasts many exciting opportunities. Aside from the park’s famous big cats, visitors can look forward to spotting an array of exotic wildlife species including antelope, deer, monkey, wild dog, hyena, jackal, sloth bear, otter and over 300 species of bird. Don’t miss the impressive Dhundwa Falls, situated on the Hinouta Plateau, and the Pandava Falls, which features some remarkable ancient caves.

Sarai at Toria

The Sarai at Toria is a small “eco-resort” beautifully situated on the banks of the River Ken. Set in 9 acres of grassland, midst lovely unspoilt Madhya Pradesh countryside, the Sarai provides a peaceful and serene stay with excellent home-cooked and home-grown food. The eight mud and thatched cottages are luxurious in comfort and each has a large bathroom, verandah and private courtyard attached. The sitting dining area commands a wonderful view over the river and towards the hills of the Panna Tiger Reserve. Designed for visitors to the World Heritage site of Khajuraho, the Sarai is also just five minutes from the entrance to the Panna National Park. Bandhavgarh National Park
3 nights, Samode Safari Lodge Bandhavgarh

DAY 4: After breakfast, commence your drive towards Bandhavgarh. The drive is approximately 5.5 hours.

DAY 5+6: Enjoy two full days of exploration of Bandhavgarh’s mighty forests on morning and afternoon private jeep safaris.

Bandhavgarh National Park

One of the most popular parks in India, Bandhavgarh National Park is renowned for the highest density of tigers in the region. The park has a large array of wildlife including sloth bears, deer, leopards and jackals. Birdwatchers will delight in the plethora of bird species inhabiting all terrains from rocky crags to the auburn forest floor and mottled forest canopy. Declared a national park in 1968, Bandhavgarh was named after an ancient fort built on 800-metre-high (2,624 foot) cliffs in the park. From its zenith one can enjoy incredible views of the park, however prior permission is required.

The Samode Safari Lodge is based at the Bandhavgarh National Park. It is a private and remote establishment adjacent to the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.

Available at the lodge is a heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, children’s pool, gymnasium, spa, steam room, library, snooker table, a boutique as well as indoor and outdoor lounges for guests. There is also a host of activity options at the Samode Safari Lodge. Guests can partake in cooking demonstrations or go for picnics on the lodge grounds. Sightseeing excursions and safari trips can be arranged and are accompanied by an in house guide. Cycling, going for nature walks and visiting nearby villages are some other activity options.

DAY 7: After breakfast, commence your drive towards Kanha. The drive is approximately 6 hours.

Kanha National Park

Also known as the Kanha Tiger Reserve, the Kanha National Park is widely considered to be the greatest of India’s wildlife reserves and the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s classic, ‘The Jungle Book’. This impressive expanse of wilderness is set in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, encompassing about 950 square kilometres of lush rolling hills, peaceful rivers, saal and bamboo forest, and endless stretches of savanna grassland. This spectacularly scenic environment provides a diverse range of habitats for an extraordinary array of wildlife including tigers, leopards, jackals, swamp deer, foxes, porcupines, sloth bears, pythons, hare, chitals, gaur monkeys, mongooses, and hundreds of species of bird.

Banjaar Tola A Taj Safari Lodge is situated along the banks of the Banjaar River overlooking the heart of the Kanha National Park. Pench National Park
3 nights, Jamtara Wilderness Camp

DAY 10: Commence your drive morning to Pench. A packed lunch hamper will be provided today, with scenic stops en route to your next accommodation. The drive is approximately 5.5 hours.

DAY 11+12: Enjoy two full days of exploration of Pench National Park on morning and afternoon private jeep safaris.

Pench National Park

Resting in the lower southern reaches of the Satpuda Hills, in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, Pench National Park is renowned for having the highest concentration of prey of any park in India, increasing the chances of seeing predatory cats such as leopard and tiger. This impressive expanse of wilderness features typical central Indian teak jungle and is bisected by the spectacularly scenic Pench River. Aside from the river, the park also contains a number of bamboo-lined jungle streams providing a valuable water source for the local wildlife which includes, among others: wild dog, sloth bear, wolf, jungle cat, hyena, jackal, gaur, sambar, and chital. Pench is also a bird lover’s paradise with over 250 species of bird inhabiting the area, including: parakeets, hornbills, kingfishers, orioles and wagtails, as well as a large selection of birds of prey.

Jamtara Wilderness Camp

Situated in the Village of Jamtara, near Pench National Park, Jamtara Wilderness Camp is a 10 luxury tented property in the heart of rural Pench. Surrounded by tall Arjuna Trees and an ancient Banyan rooted on a dry riverbed, each tented room overlooks the forest which set the perfect background to this jungle experience.

As you drive up to Jamtara Camp, you feel the calmness that will surround you for the next few days of your stay, with lush jungles surrounding you and the minimal use of concrete, the city life is left behind.

While many may sleep inside their luxury tent, others may feel a little more connected with nature and have the option of sleeping outside on their patio. Mosquito netting will keep the bugs away, quilts and hot water bottles will keep the cold away.

1 night, The Oberoi Gurgaon

DAY 13: After breakfast you will continue with your driver and guide to Nagpur airport to board your scheduled charter flight to Delhi. On arrival our representative will transfer you to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Note: Parks in Central India remains closed for afternoon safaris on every Wednesday. The national parks in India close in monsoons, from 1st July to 14th October annually.
