Thermal Springs, Fishing and Cultural Experience in Style
If you have ever thought of planning a New Zealand adventure, you understand that the diversity in options of accommodations, activities, and experiences can make such a trip a bit of challenge when considering your priorities. It is our opinion at DownUnder Adventure Company, that regardless of where you go, to be sure to include Rotorua – the spiritual epicenter of the Maori people and up and coming adventure destination in New Zealand.
You can go fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rafting, golfing, visiting thermal springs and spending quality time with Maori people all in a span of a few days. Everything will depend on your style of travel. However, one important part of the equation is where to stay. There are quite a few different options ranging from Bed and Breakfast to luxury lodges, and they all have their merit, but in this post we want to focus on Peppers on the Point.
Peppers on the Point is a classic lodge with irresistible charm. The two-story mansion has been lovingly refurbished to retain its timeless appeal and character.
The former 1930s mansion retains its relaxed and tranquil ambiance, with lavish features and amazing views over Mokoia Island. Part of its charm is a large communal lounge with open fireplace, a timber-paneled dining room and elegant billiard room.
Formerly a family home, many of the antiques remain which combined with modern luxury furnishings provide a comfortable and relaxing retreat. Families and groups will warm to the exclusivity and unique feel of Peppers on the Point. Each suite has an inviting lounge area, en suite bathroom with underfloor heating and spa bath. The room types are divided up between Lodge Suites, Main Suite, Lake Cottage Suites, the Lake Villa and Lake Villa Apartment.
There are many dining options available for guests to enjoy the meticulous menu in which everything, where possible, is made fresh from scratch, including the popular house-baked ciabatta.Guests may choose to join for dinner in the main dining room for a four-course d’hôte dinner, reserve an elegant private dining room, or perhaps dine in their suites or on the terrace overlooking the lake on a warm evening.
Whatever your choice for what to do in Rotorua, one thing is certain, you cannot go wrong by basing all your activities from Peppers on the Point and their sublime views.
